Originally dating back to 1898, the Orwell Hotel is a traditional, old-fashioned hotel, which underwent a major refurbishment during the autumn of 2003. The property was initially built for Lord Tollemarch. Today, the spacious public areas are wood-panelled and traditionally decorated with a wealth of charm and elegance. There are 58 en suite rooms, all of which are tastefully furnished.
A full English Breakfast is included in the price. Westerfield’s Restaurant has an elegant atmosphere and offers both a table d’hôte and an à la carte menu.
Felixstowe is an Edwardian resort and, like the hotel itself, it still retains much of its original charm. The town features beautiful south-facing gardens, many attractions, safe beaches and a paved promenade. The hotel is just a mile (1.6 km) from the town’s port.
